What is 狗熊哆嗦毛 (bear shaking its fur)?

Updated · Shanshenbu Dance

狗熊哆嗦毛 (gǒu xióng duō suo máo, "the bear shakes its fur") is a move from Shandong's Guzi Yangge drum dance: knees slightly bent, the dancer shakes the whole body left and right from the waist, fast, like a bear shaking off water. An old dance-class clip of it, with the teacher calling out "gou xiong duo suo mao, long dong kuang" straight-faced, went viral right after shan shen bu in late September 2026.

Where it comes from

Guzi Yangge (鼓子秧歌) is a drum dance from Shanghe in Shandong, traced back to the Northern Song dynasty and listed as national intangible cultural heritage in China in 2006. The shake is one of its basic movements and takes a strong core, which is why it looks so odd when anyone else tries it (Mirror Media, 29 September 2026).

What the teacher calls out

"狗熊哆嗦毛,隆咚哐、隆咚哐" (gou xiong duo suo mao, long dong kuang, long dong kuang): the move's name, then the drum beat, while the whole body shakes (ifeng, 29 September 2026).

The other two moves

The flash step (闪身步) and prodigal kicking the ball (浪子踢球) went viral first; both come from the Anhui Flower Drum Lantern dance, not from yangge.
